Carefree, Arizona: Two Entrepreneurs

TWO ENTREPRENEURS, K.T. Palmer and Tom Darlington, formed a partnership and acquired land known as Carefree in the 1950s. In the 1980s, they incorporated as a town, and in 1993 Thunderbird Artists began their longest running partnership of 25 years with the Carefree Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce, their volunteers and the Town of Carefree.

The Town of Carefree closes its streets to host Thunderbird Artists. Patrons love to meet the artists, enjoy exhibits of paintings, bronzes, stone, copper, clay, metal, mixed media art and sculptures, fine photography, one-of-a-kind jewelry and much more.

Stop by and visit charming specialty shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and outdoor cafes surrounding this event, which is nestled in the natural desert with panoramic mountain views and dramatic sunsets.
